Take and share a photo on a Samsung phone

Start with an ordinary object such as a mug or flower. Taking a photo and sharing it are separate actions: a picture is not sent just because you took it. These steps use Samsung Camera and Gallery; layouts vary with One UI and app versions.

Before you start

  • Unlock your phone that is already set up and choose something harmless to photograph.
  • Have a messaging or email app you already use, with a trusted recipient and internet access.

Step 1 of 6: Open Camera

Tap Camera.

Hold the phone steady and point it at a simple object, such as a mug.

  1. Return Home and tap Gallery.
  2. Find the photo you just took and tap it.

  2. Choose a messaging or email app you already use.

  1. Choose the person you want to send it to.
  2. Check their name and the attached photo.
  3. Tap Send.
